The Poppy War series by R.F. Kuang
Historical fantasy novel based on events in 20th-century China (second Sino-Japanese war and as the title hints, opium). It was v cool to see how she blended magic with history, and somehow made it easier to stomach the violence of that time 😳. I binged through all 3 books in a week and a half.Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker
A comprehensive overview of all things sleep – physical/mental benefits, why we dream, how to sleep better etc. The author teaches the Psychology of Sleep class at Berkeley, I’ve heard from friends that some studies might be slightly exaggerated lol but it’s still interesting to flip through.2024 Pulitzer Prize winners
